Contributing to the protection of aquatic ecosystems is one of the main missions of the Tropical Aquarium and many other aquariums across the world. Thanks to their partners, they participate actively in scientific research programmes and implement species conservation actions by creating backup populations.

Tropical aquatic environments are particularly endangered by the consequences of human activities: global warming and the acidification of seawater, coastal erosion, destruction and drying up of rivers, intensive fishing, all types of pollution, the list is long... But initiatives exist to inform the public and propose solutions to reduce or alleviate these changes.
